On 30 January 2026, the Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) proudly welcomed a delegation from Tennessee University, represented by Associate Professor Rachel RUI, Director of Global Research, Innovation & Partnerships. This visit marked the beginning of a strategic partnership focused on innovation, academic excellence, and community impact.
SHAPING THE FUTURE TOGETHER: CUR AND TENNESSEE UNIVERSITY IN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
The meeting focused on key areas of cooperation, including Social Work, Nursing, Education, Agriculture, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ICT to improve teaching and learning. Both institutions also explored student exchange programs and joint research collaborations supported by international grants.
This partnership will provide CUR students with international exposure, modern digital and AI skills, and new learning opportunities that prepare them for a competitive global job market. Academic staff will benefit from collaborative research, professional development, and increased access to international funding.
Beyond the university, the partnership aims to deliver real benefits to the community through applied research, improved healthcare training, social development initiatives, and innovative agricultural practices.
Through this strategic partnership, CUR continues to shape the future by connecting global knowledge with local impact.
