Conferences at the Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) play a vital role in advancing the University's mission of academic excellence, innovation, and service to society. As a higher learning rooted in Christian values, CUR views conferences as dynamic platforms for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving at local, regional, and international levels.
The primary objective of conferences at CUR is to create spaces where scholars, professionals, policymakers, and community actors can exchange ideas, present research findings, and reflect on contemporary challenges affecting Rwanda, Africa, and the global community. These events promote interdisciplinary engagement, encourage critical thinking, and support evidence-based solutions aligned with sustainable development and ethical responsibility.
For the University, conferences strengthen academic visibility, foster institutional partnerships, and enhance research output and innovation. For science, they contribute to the dissemination of new knowledge, stimulate debate, and inspire further research. Academic and administrative staff benefit through professional development, networking, and exposure to best practices, while students gain valuable learning opportunities, mentorship, and inspiration for academic and career growth.
Beyond the campus, CUR conferences positively impact the wider community by sharing expertise, informing public dialogue, and supporting social, economic, and human development. Through conferences, CUR affirms its commitment to knowledge in service of humanity.
The Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) has reached an exciting new milestone by hosting its First International Research and Capacity-Building Seminar on 2nd and 3rd December 2025. This landmark event, organized together with the African Educational Pact Institute, clearly shows that CUR is becoming one of the fastest-growing universities in Africa. The seminar focused on an inspiring theme: "Responsibilities of Theologians toward the Church, Society, and the University."
Under the patronage of: His Eminence Antoine Cardinal KAMBANDA
For two days, participants shared inspiring ideas, built new academic connections, and shaped a strong vision for the future of research and education at CUR. The seminar also boosted the university's efforts to grow international partnerships and develop innovative master's programs.
With this successful event, CUR shows that it is a dynamic, ambitious, and globally minded university; one that empowers its students, encourages research, and works closely with international partners.
The journey has begun, and CUR is ready to shine even brighter.
