Dr. Rachel BAYISENGE is the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and a dedicated Lecturer at the Catholic University of Rwanda, where she oversees the academic and administrative functions of the faculty. She earned her masters and Ph.D. in Management from China, marking a significant milestone in her academic journey. She has a rich teaching background, having imparted knowledge at various universities across Rwanda. Her teaching repertoire spans diverse modules, reflecting her expertise and commitment to education in the field of Business. In her research endeavors, Dr. Rachel has made notable contributions to the scholarly community. She has authored articles published in esteemed international journals, focusing on topics such as accounting, agri-business, and gender equality. Her academic pursuits also extend to participating in conferences, where she engages with peers and presents her findings.
Currently, Dr. BAYISENGE is actively involved in enhancing the academic curriculum within her faculty, aiming to ensure relevance and quality in education. She also coordinating and plays a pivotal role in coaching CPA students, preparing them for professional success in the field. She’s dedication to academia, coupled with her leadership as Dean, underscores her commitment to advancing education and research at the Catholic University of Rwanda. Her recent work highlights her ongoing contributions to curriculum development and her steadfast support of students' academic growth and success.

Message From Dean
Welcome to the Faculty of Commerce (FCOM) at the Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR). Established to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for success in the business world, the Faculty aims to foster economic and social development while enhancing entrepreneurial capabilities.
We equip students with managerial skills in two campuses of CUR namely Save campus located in Gisagara District, and Taba campus in Huye District both located in Southern province. The Faculty of Commerce has two Departments namely ‘Commercial Engineering’ and ‘Management and Accounting’. The Faculty has 5 full time academic staff supported by part time lecturers who mainly contribute in connecting academic programs with industry practices and real-world applications.
Furthermore, the Faculty of Commerce supports students in securing employment; through professional courses, Projects and investors actively involve our graduate students in efforts to reduce current unemployment. Short courses, like CPA programs, projects and other training opportunities, are offered to equip students with essential skills required for today’s job market. The Faculty also provides awards and organizes competitions in various academic areas. Additionally, the Faculty promotes opportunities for exchange and innovation by partnering with industries, banks, and businesses to enrich learning and development.
