Programs Offered:
  • Bachelor with Honours in Catechesis

In a society facing moral confusion, family breakdown, and growing secularism, our Faculty prepares students to be leaders in spiritual education, ethical guidance, and pastoral service.

Graduates serve as catechists, chaplains, educators, and change agents in parishes, schools, NGOs, and media. With Rwanda's strong Christian identity, this Faculty contributes directly to peacebuilding, values education, and the formation of morally grounded youth.

CUR's programs combine theological depth with practical training, empowering students to engage with real-world challenges through the lens of faith and service.

A Historic International Seminar Opens a New Chapter of Growth and Innovation

The Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) has reached an exciting new milestone by hosting its First International Research and Capacity-Building Seminar on 2nd and 3rd December 2025.

This landmark event, organized together with the African Educational Pact Institute, clearly shows that CUR is becoming one of the fastest-growing universities in Africa. The seminar focused on an inspiring theme: "Responsibilities of Theologians toward the Church, Society, and the University."

Distinguished Speakers:

Under the patronage of His Eminence Antoine Cardinal KAMBANDA, CUR welcomed leading scholars from Africa, Europe, and the United States, including:

  • Prof. Jean-Paul NIYIGENA, African Educational Pact Institute
  • Rev. Prof. Leo LEFEBURE, Georgetown University, USA
  • Sr. Prof. Ana Thea FILIPOVIC, University of Zagreb, Croatia

For two days, participants shared inspiring ideas, built new academic connections, and shaped a strong vision for the future of research and education at CUR. The seminar also boosted the university's efforts to grow international partnerships and develop innovative master's programs.
