Banking partnership for financial services and literacy education
Financial literacy, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and research
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Equity Bank Rwanda PLC and the Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) sets a five-year, non-binding framework for collaboration in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, and research.
Equity Bank will design financial products tailored to CUR students and staff, provide capacity-building and financial literacy trainings, develop training curricula, and share environmental conservation initiatives such as tree planting, waste management, and recycling education.
CUR will identify and recommend eligible participants for training, encourage account opening with Equity Bank, channel all CUR project accounts through the bank, promote financial literacy programs, provide venues and logistics for training, and facilitate the bank's participation in university activities and environmental initiatives.
Both parties will promote joint visibility through branding, media, and events, and explore further collaboration in education, research, financial inclusion, and innovation.
Benefits for Equity Bank include strengthened corporate social responsibility, greater brand visibility, expansion of its customer base, and contribution to Rwanda's economic and human capital development.
